Radio Shuttle Racking
Radio Shuttle Racking is a high-density pallet storage system that uses an automated shuttle to move pallets along guide rails inside deep storage lanes. Forklifts load pallets at the lane entry, and the shuttle positions them safely and efficiently, reducing forklift travel and rack impact. Ideal for high-volume SKUs, cold storage, and distribution centres, Radio Shuttle Racking maximizes cubic capacity while maintaining controlled inventory flow. The system supports FIFO or LIFO operation through configurable entry/exit points and can be integrated with warehouse control software.
Why Choose Radio Shuttle Racking?
Automated Pallet Shuttle
An automated shuttle transfers pallets along rail-guided lanes, reducing forklift entry into racks and improving handling speed.
High-Density Storage
Maximize cubic capacity with deep-lane storage and minimal aisles, ideal for cold stores and high-throughput pallet handling.
FIFO / LIFO Flexibility
Configure lanes for FIFO or LIFO dispatch; the shuttle manages pallet sequencing with consistent throughput.
Reduced Forklift Travel
Forklifts only operate at the lane entry, reducing travel distance, congestion and rack contact risks in high-density storage.
| Lane | Pallet Size | Lane Depth | Clear Height | Load/Pal | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lane 10 | 1200×1000 mm | 10 pallet positions | 7.5 m | 1250 kg | Shallow lanes for fast-moving SKUs |
| Lane 20 | 1200×1000 mm | 20 pallet positions | 10 m | 1250 kg | Standard depth for mixed SKUs |
| Lane 30 | 1200×1000 mm | 30 pallet positions | 11 m | 1250 kg | High-throughput dispatch lanes |
| Lane 40 | 1200×1000 mm | 40 pallet positions | 12 m | 1250 kg | Deep storage for bulk/seasonal builds |

How Radio Shuttle Racking Works
1.
Load Pallet at Entry
Forklift places a pallet on the shuttle at the lane entrance and sets the destination position.
2.
Shuttle Moves to Position
The radio-controlled shuttle drives along the guide rails to the selected pallet position.
3.
Place & Index Pallet
The shuttle gently deposits the pallet at the target bay, confirms placement, and returns for the next cycle.
4.
Retrieve at Outfeed
For picking, the shuttle brings pallets to the lane outfeed so forklifts lift with minimal aisle entry.
